One of my favorite recent purchases is this pair of Nine West leopard flats that I bought on Poshmark.  I went for a super relaxed outfit today and paired a loose fitting button-up top with my slouchy camel pants.  I figured I needed a little pop, so I decided that today was a day for my flats.  I personally think they added a TON to this outfit.  What do you think?

Add a Little Bootie

Sweater: Kohls, Jeans: LC Lauren Conrad, Handbag: BCBGeneration, Booties: Isola, Pin: Vintage

I have loved the pairing of boyfriend jeans and booties since I first saw it in Sex and the City: The Movie.  Since leaving my lifelong home of Florida for North Carolina, I have been able to try the pairing myself, and I have to say that I am definitely digging it (Yes, I did say DIGGING it 😉 ).  Lately, I have been experimenting with pinning brooches to the seaming of my sweaters to jazz them up as an alternative to a statement necklace, another pairing I am loving as well.  Here’s to hoping that this season brings new ideas, creations, pairings, clothes, and smiles.

With fall weather comes a handful of dreary days that make you want to wear sweatpants all day. Though you may be inclined to stay inside, most, unfortunately, do not have the luxury of avoiding bad weather by bunkering down in their home. These are the days when one of the biggest challenges awaits: making comfortable clothing chic. I ditched my sweatpants and tee for a J Crew ensemble that has enough textural contrast to keep it interesting. My outfit choices not only kept me comfortable, but they potentially saved other items in my closet, like my calf skin leopard flats, from being ruined by the rain.

Fall officially arrived in Raleigh while I was down in Florida, and I am so excited to transition into full-on fall now!  I chose to dress warmly today in an outfit that screams “half of these clothes could be my boyfriend’s”; well, they might if I was dating a hipster.  This outfit makes me feel confident and beautiful, which is just the way I like it.  I did get a little silly today during the shoot (hence the last photo), but girls just want to have fun, right?

We finally made it Florida and had our first meeting with the wedding planner today!  Despite the Florida heat, I couldn’t resist dabbling in a monochromatic scheme.  I paired my flowy black chiffon top with black skinnies for an unbelievably comfortable outfit that made my busy day oh so enjoyable.  I am also learning to love wearing multiple bracelets with outfits – especially those that need a little pizzazz. I can’t wait to try some more monochromatic outfits this fall and winter!

Some days you just want to be ridiculously and unapologetically comfortable, and today was one of those days.  The paradoxical Raleigh, NC weather has left me slightly stumped when choosing outfits, but today was one of the last truly summery days.  To celebrate the end of summer, I decided to pull out my sheer mini/maxi skirt and layer a sleeveless denim button-up over it.  Though my jewelry was decidedly minimal, I couldn’t resist the urge to spruce my outfit up a bit with my favorite clutch- a cheetah print sequined envelope clutch from BCBG Max Azria.  What can I say?  I just can’t resist adding a little sparkle to any outfit!

A Classic Sunday

I bought this skirt forever ago and have been longing to wear it, but my perpetual fear of ruining white clothing has prevented me from donning it until this Sunday.  The weather has been beautiful lately, and for some reason fall always makes me want to wear classic outfits, so I decided to pay homage to the classics.  Recently, I have lost a decent amount of weight due to some health issues, which has presented a problem in the fit of my clothes, but I have learned to love tucking shirts in!

A New Week, A New Outfit

Dress: Thakoon for Target (reeeally old), Military Jacket: Roxy, Belt: Calvin Klein, Shoes: Target,  Sunnies: Cole Haan, Handbag: Louis Vuitton, Bracelets: Juicy Couture, Sage K & Co., Bella Perlina, Zahav

With a new week comes renewed health and a new outfit.  Now, almost all of these pieces are ones I have had for a loooong time now, but I was definitely in the mood to toughen up my favorite Thakoon for Target dress, which is new for me.  Even though it is starting to feel like fall, the weather is not exactly leather jacket friendly yet here, so I figured a 3/4 sleeve military jacket would complement my dress in this semi-heat.  Even though I love this Roxy jacket (leftover from my days as a Quiksilver employee), I seriously want an olive anorak.  Maybe that will be my next purchase… who knows?

Now, I know it isn’t quite fall yet, but it is close enough to begin the transition to a semi-fall wardrobe.  The remaining heat of the summer resulted in my choice of a poncho [cue Anne Hathaway: “A poncho?”, Stanley Tucci: “You’re going to take what I give you and you’re going to like it”].  All in all, I cannot wait until the weather begins to cool down a bit so I can wear my new (and fabulous) fall clothing.  Anyone else excited for some cooler weather?

Top: vintage slip, Pants: Mossimo (old)

Shoes: Christian Siriano for Payless, Earrings: vintage, Bag: Botkier

I wish I had photos that did this outfit justice, I really do.  I decided to pair slouchy beige satin trousers with a vintage satin tank to keep it simple this Sunday.  I thought that the heels were simple enough to work well with the outfit, but not overwhelming.  I’m not usually a Payless kind of girl, but I am definitely thankful that I have been able to reuse these pumps that I bought for my brother’s wedding.  Trust me, it’s far easier to reuse bridesmaid shoes than a bridesmaid’s dress.

P.S. Photos were taken pre-hairstyling, so that accounts for the crazy wet hair in the pictures
